Inca Trail: The Q’ero Gaze

Walking the Andes through another way of seeing the territory

A six-day experience through Cusco and the Inca Trail to walk the Andes with Nilo through a Q’ero perspective, approaching concepts such as Ayni, Pachamama and the Apus as we make our way toward Machu Picchu.

Purpose

The path does not begin at Machu Picchu

The purpose is not only to arrive at Machu Picchu. We seek to experience the territory through a different rhythm and to respectfully approach a worldview in which nature, community and spirituality are not separate.

Day by day

The journey, step by step

Arrival · accommodation · rest · acclimatization · optional gentle walk · welcome · introduction to Nilo

Adapt to the territory, altitude and a new rhythm. Nilo introduces Pachamama, the Apus and the Q’ero relationship with the mountain. Journaling: with what intention do I arrive to this path?

San Pedro Market · Sacsayhuamán · Qorikancha if logistics allow · Inca Trail preparation

Explore Ayni, the Apus, Pachamama and the meaning of coca leaves from within Nilo’s cultural context. Journaling: what changes when I stop seeing nature only as landscape?

Transfer to the starting point · walk · Andean landscape · cultural and archaeological interpretation · mindful pauses · camp

Rhythm, breath, body, territory and presence. Nilo introduces Ayni during the walk. Integration: what arises when walking stops being only displacement?

Continued walk · ascent · mountain observation · archaeological sites on the final route · conversations with Nilo · camp

The mountain as relationship: Apus, respect, community, territory, reciprocity and presence. If Nilo confirms it is culturally appropriate, an offering to Pachamama may be included without pre-defining or inventing it.

Walk · Andean landscapes · archaeological sites on the final route · individual moments · conversation with Nilo · final night on the trail

Go deeper into Ayni: giving and receiving, person and community, person and nature, traveler and territory. The trail itself remains the protagonist.

Final walk · arrival at Machu Picchu · guided visit · archaeological interpretation · Nilo’s perspective · contemplation · integration · return to Cusco

Machu Picchu is not the reward. It is the place we reach after several days of walking, listening and observing. Closing question: what am I taking with me from the path?

Nilo is Q’ero, a Quechua speaker

Our guide

Walking alongside a living way of seeing the territory

Nilo

Nilo is Q’ero, a Quechua speaker, and accompanies the journey by sharing a perspective deeply connected to Pachamama, the Apus, reciprocity and conscious living. Throughout the Inca Trail he will bring us closer to concepts of the Q’ero cosmovision from within the territory we are walking.
